각 이닝 선두 세 타자의 출루 능력이 득점에 미치는 영향

The Impact of the Leading Three Hitter in Each Inning on the Professional Baseball Team’s Score: Lotte Giants

야구라는 스포츠는 다른 대부분의 스포츠와 마찬가지로 상대팀에 비해서 더 많은 점수를 올려야 승리를 하는 스포츠이다. 하지만 야구에서 득점은 한 사람에 의해서 이루어진 것이 아니기 때문에 한 개인만 분석하는 것은 의미가 없다. 본 연구는 2007년과 2008년 롯데자이언츠의 252게임의 각 이닝별 득점 유무, 각 이닝의 선두 세 타자의 타석에서의 결과를 각각 이용하여 득점 유무에 따라 각 이닝의 선두 세 타자의 타격 결과가 차이가 있는지를 알아보았다. 그 중에서 첫번째 타자가 출루 후 두 번째 타자가 희생번트를 하는 것이 득점을 위해 의미가 있다는 사실도 나타났다. 마지막으로 각 이닝 선두 세 타자가 득점 유무에 얼마나 중요한 영향을 미치는 지를 SAS ver 9.1 Enterprise Miner를 통하여 로지스틱회귀분석과 의사결정나무분석을 실시하여 비교분석한 결과 전체적인 추정 결과는 비슷하였지만 득점이 있는 경우의 예측에서 로지스틱회귀분석의 결과가 더 좋게 나타났다.

To win the baseball game, it needs to get more scores than the opposite team. Only one player does not have all positive effects to make a score in the baseball, because a score does not make by a certain player. In this research, we consider the impact of first, second and third hitters in each inning to make the scores in professional baseball games. We use the data of Lotte Giants professional team’s in 2007 and 2008 (252 games). Especially, we know that second hitter’s bunt is useful to make the scores. We did statistical analysis using SAS ver 9.1 Enterprise Miner and also use logistic regression analysis and decision tree analysis to compare each result. Consequently, results of the logistic regression analysis is better than these of the decision tree analysis in a score existence case.
