공과대학생의 학습성과 달성도와 공학 효능감 연구

A Study on Engineering Students’ Program Outcomes and Engineering Self-Efficacy

본 연구는 공학 분야를 전공한 학생이라면 졸업하기 전에 반드시 대학교육을 통해 배워야 하는 최소한의 능력과 자질을 의미하는 학습성과 달성도와 공학 효능감이 학년에 따라 차이가 있는지 그리고 학습성과 달성도와 공학 효능감 간에 어떠한 관계가 있는지를 알아보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구를 위하여 부산 소재 대학의 공과대학에 재학중인 1학년 92명, 2학년 111명, 3학년 146명, 4학년 114명 등 총 463명을 대상으로 학습성과 달성도 검사와 공학 효능감 검사를 실시하였다. 다변량 분산분석 결과, 학습성과 달성도의 하위 변인 중, 기본소양능력과 팀활동능력 및 평생학습 역량에서 학년에 따른 유의한 차이가 나타났으며, 공학 효능감 하위 요인에서는 직무효능감과 팀활동 효능감에서 학년 간에 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 그리고 학습성과 달성도와 공학 효능감 하위 요인들 간에는 높은 상관이 보고되었다. 본 연구의 결과 학습성과 달성도 하위 요인 중 공학자질과 능력 요인 그리고 공학 효능감 하위 요인 중 전공영역 효능감에서 학년 간 차이가 없는 것으로 나타나 현재 공과대학 전공 교육에 대한 질 개선이 필요한 것으로 제안되었다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether there were difference between grades of engineering students in terms of program outcomes and engineering self-efficacy. A total of 463 engineering students(freshman=92, sophomore=111, junior=146, senior=114) completed the program outcomes test and engineering self-efficacy test. The program outcomes consists of three sub scales(i.e., engineering competency, soft skill competency, and team-work competency and an ability to engage in life-long learning). The engineering self-efficacy test consists of four sub scales(i.e., major related efficacy, career expectations efficacy, team activity efficacy, and creativity efficacy). The results of MANOVA with grades indicated that seniors scored significantly higher than freshmen, sophomores and juniors in the soft skill competency, and sophomores, juniors and seniors scored significantly higher than freshmen in the variables such as the team-work competency and an ability to engage in life-long learning and team activity efficacy. And seniors scored significantly higher than freshmen in career expectations efficacy. Finally, there were significant correlation between program outcomes and engineering self-efficacy
