오즈비를 이용한 메타분석에 관한 연구

A Study of Meta-Analysis Using the Odds Ratio

메타분석(meta-analysis)은 개별 논문의 연구결과를 통계적으로 통합하여 일반적이고 종합적인 결론을 얻고자 시행하는 분석 방법이다. 메타분석은 신뢰할 수 있는 결과를 제공하기 때문에 많은 분야에서 이용되고 있다. 메타분석의 대상이 되는 통계량은 평균, 상관계수, 오즈비 등 여러가지가 있다. 오즈비(odds ratio: OR)를 이용하여 메타분석을 하기 위해 개별 논문을 살펴보면 일반적으로 adjusted 오즈비가 연구결과로써 제시되고 있음을 알 수 있다. Adjusted 오즈비는 연구자의 관심변수와 이에 영향을 줄 수 있는 변수들을 사용한 로지스틱 회귀모형(logistic regression model)에 의해 추출되는 통계량이다. 따라서 adjusted 오즈비를 통해서 보다 더 정확한 치료효과를 나타낼 수 있다. 또한 이는 adjusted 오즈비를 사용하여 메타분석의 결과를 제시하는 것이 합리적임을 말해 준다. 하지만 adjusted 오즈비를 이용하여 메타분석을 하는 데에는 많은 어려움과 한계가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 adjusted 오즈비를 이용한 메타분석 방법에 대해 모색하여 보고 이를 실증 예에 적용하도록 한다. 그 결과 adjusted 오즈비로써 메타분석 결과를 제시할 수 있었다.

Meta-analysis is a statistical method that summarizes outcomes of previous studies. This leads us to gain more reliable results. Because of this advantage, it has been widely used in a variety of fields. In this writing, we focus on odds ratios among lots of statistics used in meta-analysis. Adjusted odds ratios are generally presented as outcomes because they give more precise treatment effects. Accordingly, it is reasonable to offer adjusted odds ratios as the results in meta-analysis. However, there are some difficulties and limits in meta-analysis using adjusted odds ratios. Therefore, we propose a method to summarize the adjusted odds ratios in meta-analysis. As the result, we are able to report the results of meta-analysis as adjusted odds ratios.
