요양보호사 교육 전후의 노인에 대한 지식, 태도, 행동 비교

A Comparison of Knowledge, Attitude and Behavior on the Elderly between Before and After Caregiver Training Program

본 연구는 요양보호사 교육 전후의 노인에 대한 지식, 태도, 행동을 비교하고 제 특성에 따른 각 변수의 차이를 파악하기 위해 실시되었다. 연구대상은 경기도에 위치한 3개 요양보호사 교육원에 등록된 성인 남녀 142명으로서 연구기간은 2009년 3월 24일부터 7월 24일까지였다. 요양보호사 교육 전후의 노인에 대한 지식, 태도, 행동에 유의한 차이가 없었으며 단지 지식의 하부영역 중 노인의 신체적/생리적 지식은 요양보호사 교육 후 유의한 증가를 나타냈다. 대상자의 제특성 중 노인간호 선호도와 노인관련 교육 참여유무에 따라 교육 전후의 노인에 대한 지식에 유의한 차이를 보였으며 결혼여부에 따라서 노인에 대한 태도에 유의한 차이를 보였다. 또한 성별과 교육수준에 따라서 교육 전후의 노인에 대한 행동에 유의한 차이를 보였다. 대상자들의 몇 가지 특성에 따라 교육 전후의 노인에 대한 지식, 태도, 행동에 유의한 차이를 보였던 만큼 교육생들이 갖고 있는 다양한 특성을 고려한 교육 프로그램을 개발하여 보다 질적인 요양보호사 교육과정을 운영해 나가야 할 것이다.

This study was conducted to examine the effects of caregiver training program. The subjects were 142 trainees of 3 caregiver training centers in Gyeonggi-do. Data were collected with structured questionnaires from March 24 to July 24, 2009, and analysed using SPSS/PC Win 12.0 program. The subject s knowledge on the elderly had a tendency to increase from 11.7 to 12.0 after caregiver training program. Regarding the knowledge on the elderly according to the elderly related characteristics, there were significantly increased by the preference on the elderly caregiving and the experience of education on the elderly. The subject s attitude on the elderly had a tendency to decrease from 80.5 to 78.9 after caregiver training program. Regarding the attitude on the elderly according to demographical characteristics, there was a significant difference by the marital status. The subject s behavior on the elderly had a tendency to increase from 58.3 to 58.7 after caregiver training program. As for the difference in gender, women showed a significant increase in behavior on the elderly after caregiver training program. Therefore we will prepare more effective and practical caregiver training programs and provide to improve caregiver s qualification.
