
Nursing Need of Chronic Pulmonary Disease Patients according to Dyspnea Level

This study is to make an attempt to provide basic information to help planning and implementing appropriate nursing to chronic pulmonary disease patients by the difference of nursing needs according to the level of dyspnea. A comparable descriptive research using a structured questionnaire survey from chronic respiratory diseases 112 patients in Seoul. Using SAS 9.13, Data were analyzed by chi-square, anova and duncan test. According to the level of dyspnea, significant differences in total nursing needs, physical needs and therapeutic needs were found. It was confirmed that needs were different according to the level of dyspnea and patients with severe dyspnea want therapeutic and physical demands above all to be fulfilled comparing to patients with slight dyspnea, thus when planning nursing procedure for those patients, these results should be considered to plan it more effectively and realistically.
