‘국경’에서 본 5~7세기 삼국의 전쟁

The Three Kingdoms War in the Fifth to Seventh Century as Seen Through ‘National Borders’

이 글은 전쟁을 통해 5~7세기 삼국의 국경 변동 양상을 검토한 장창은 저 『삼국시대 전쟁과 국경』의 주요 내용을 소개하고, 나아가 저서를 통해 새롭게 제기될 수 있는 문제들에 대해 검토해보고자 한 것이다. 특히 5세기 이후로 전쟁을 거듭하였던 삼국 간에 그어진 ‘전선’을 곧 ‘국경’으로 치환하고자 하였던 저자의 시각과 이것에 기반하여 전개된 정밀한 논의를 따라가면서, 그와 같은 문제의식과 연구 방법이 제시하는 사학사적 의미를 짚어보고자 하였다. 끝으로 앞으로의고대 ‘국경’에 대한 연구가 이를 ‘공간’으로 바라보고 ‘변경’ 혹은 ‘접경 공간’으로 인식하여, 그공간 위에서 삶을 영위하였던 주민집단에 대한 연구로 전환될 필요가 있음을 지적하였다.

This article introduces the main contents of Wars and Borders of the Three Kingdom Period written by Jang, Chang-eun, who examined the borders of the three kingdoms in the fifth to seventh century through war and further, it attempted to critically examine problems that can newly be brought up through this book. In particular, it followed the viewpoint of the writer who attempted to replace the ‘fronts’ drawn between the three kingdoms, which repeatedly went through war after the 5th century, with ‘borders’ along with detailed discussions developed based on this to point out historical meanings and limitations presented by such problem awareness and research methods. Lastly, it organized prospects for future related research, focusing on remaining stories that were not dealt with in Wars and Borders of the Three Kingdom Period.
