일본 국·공립학교 IBDP 교육과정 운영 현황 분석 및 시사점 탐구

An Analysis of the Current Status of Japanese National and Public Schools’ IBDP Curriculum and Its Implications

본 연구에서는 국내 공교육에서의 IBDP 교육과정 운영의 현실적인 해결방안을 찾기 위해 우리와 비슷한 교육제도를 지녔으며 최근 공교육에 IBDP를 도입한 일본의 국·공립 고등학교 7개교의 IBDP 운영 현황을 연구하여 시사점을 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이에 따라 학생 선발 방식, 교육과정 운영 방식, 교과개설 현황, 연간 소요 비용, 대학 진학의 다섯 가지 분석 틀을 기반으로 운영의 구체적인 사례를 각 학교 웹사이트 정보공시에 근거하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 각 학교에서는 별도로 IB 학생을 소수 선발하여 학교설정과목을 통해 일본 국가교육과정과 연계를 시켰으며, IB 과정 학생과 비 IB 학생 간의 격차를 줄이려는 노력도 병행하였다. 일본어 DP 운영을 통해 특정 교과는 학교에서 지정하였으며, IB 과정 참여 시 별도 비용이 존재하였다. 한편, 일본에서는 정부 차원에서 IB 대입제도를 적극적으로 신설 중에 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 국내에의 시사점을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to suggest implications for Korean public IBDP (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme) education’s development by doing a case study of Japanese seven national and public schools’ IBDP curriculum operation, as Japan has a similar education system and has recently introduced the IBDP in public education. Based on five analytical frameworks - way to select IB students, operation method of IBDP curriculum, IBDP subjects, annual costs, and university admission - the study analyzed each school’s case through information on the school’s website. The research outcomes are as follows. Each school selects a small number of IB students separately, and connects the IB curriculum to Japanese national curriculum by making school’s own new subjects, which can be included in credits of the Japanese national curriculum. Furthermore, each school tries to narrow the gap between IB students and non IB students. With the dual language IBDP, a few subjects have set by the school and have applied to all students. Also, students need to pay additional costs for the programme. For the spread of the IBDP in Japan, the Japanese government is actively making a new university admission system related to IB. With these outcomes, the study suggested implications for Korean public IBDP education.
