고등학생 성장발달자산의 물질남용에의 영향

The Effects of Development Assets on Substance Abuse among High School Students

본 연구는 고등학생을 대상으로 성장발달자산의 물질남용에의 영향을 파악하기 위한 연구로, 도시와 농촌지역 고등학생 518명을 대상으로 조사하였다. 일반적 특성과 성장발달자산을 독립변수로 하고 물질남용 즉 흡연, 음주 및 약물 경험을 종속변수로 하여 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 2012년 9월에 설문조사하였으며 통계분석은 PASW 18.0 program을 이용하였다. 연구결과 성별과 지역에 따라 물질남용에 차이를 보였는데 남학생이 여학생보다 흡연과 음주를 많이 하는 경향을 보였고, 농촌지역 학생들이 도시지역 학생보다 흡연과 음주 경험이 높았다. 또한 물질남용자들이 비 물질남용자에 비해 전반적으로 성장발달자산이 높았다. 성장발달자산 하위영역에서 물질남용에 미치는 영향을 살펴보면, 긍정적 가치관이 높은 학생일수록 0.32배 흡연을 적게 하는 것으로 나타났고, 사회적 지지를 많이 받는 학생일수록 0.29배 약물사용을 적게 하는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 음주에서는 사회적 능력이 높을수록 1.62배 음주를 더 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 결과적으로 긍정적 가치관이 높은 학생들이 흡연을 적게 하는 경향을 보였고, 사회적 지지가 높은 학생이 약물사용이 낮음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과에 따라 청소년들의 흡연을 감소시키기 위한 전략으로 청소년기의 긍정적 가치관의 정립이 중요하며, 약물 남용을 감소시키기 위해 가정과 지역사회에서 청소년의 사회적 지지를 증진시키기 위한 프로그램의 확대가 필요함을 알 수 있다.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine the protective effects of the developmental assets on smoking, alcohol drinking and illegal drug used by high school students. Methods: The participants of the study were 518 high school students lived in Seoul, Kyunggi and Chungnam province. Data were collected in September, 2012, and analyzed using t-test, logistic regression with PASW 18.0. Results: Results of this study were as follows: 1) There were significant differences by gender, area, school achievement in smoking, alcohol drinking and drug. There were also significant differences by gender, area, school achievement in developmental assets. 2) By means of logistic regression analysis, compared to the students with lower positive value, the students with high positive value had less possibility of smoking. And compared to the students with low social support, the students with high social support had less possibility of using illegal drugs. On the other hand, compared to the students with low social ability, the students with high social ability had more possibility of alcohol drinking. Conclusion: In conclusion, in order to make effective approaches for the prevention of smoking, alcohol drinking and use of drugs, we should consider that the protective approach such as developmental assets will be based on health education for adolescents.
