경상남도 C시 성인의 동성애 인식

Attitudes toward Homosexuals of Adults in C City

본 연구는 성인들의 동성애에 대한 인식 정도를 파악하고자 시도되었으며, 연구대상자는 경상남도 C시에 거주하는 성인으로 2013년 9월 2일부터 9월 11일까지 총 300명을 대상으로 설문지를 배부하여 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 20.0프로그램을 이용하여 빈도와 백분율, t-검증(t-test), 일원분산분석(ANOVA), 사후검증(Scheffe‘s-test), 피어슨 상관계수(Pearson’s correlation coefficients)로 분석하였다. 본 연구결과 대상자들의 동성애 인식정도는 평균 3.18±0.73으로 중간 이상의 배타성을 보였고, 자아존중감 정도는 3.04±0.39로 비교적 높게 나타났다. 동성애 인식과 자아존중감은 역 상관관계를 나타냈고, 대상자의 특성에 따른 동성애 인식의 차이는 연령(F=14.308, p<0.001), 결혼유무(F=-5.611, p<0.001), 직업(F=-5.989, p<0.001), 자녀 유무(F=-.5.492, p<0.001), 청소년기 가정에서의 성관련 질문에 대한 개방성 정도(F=6.541, p<0.001), 청소년기에 받았던 성교육에 대한 만족 정도(F=2.815, p=0.026), 청소년기 친구들과의 성관련 대화의 솔직함 정도(F=4.693, p=0.001)에 따라 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 따라서 동성애 인식과 관련한 교육프로그램의 개발 시에는 이러한 특성들에 대한 고려와 반영이 필요할 것이다.

This study was conducted to investigate attitudes toward homosexuals of adults. The subjects were 300 adults in C city and the data were collected from September 2 to September 11 of 2013. The data were analyzed by SPSS 20.0 program using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe’s test and Pearson’s correlation. The score of attitudes toward homosexuals was 3.18±0.73 and self-esteem was 3.04±0.39. Self-esteem showed negative correlation with the level of attitudes toward homosexuals. Attitudes toward homosexuals was affected by various general characteristics including age (F=14.308, p<.001), marital status (F=-5.611, p<.001), career (F=-5.989, p<.001), having children (F=-.5.492, p<.001), freedom of sex-related question at home in adolescence (F=6.541, p<.001), satisfaction of school sex education in adolescence (F=2.815, p=.026), openness of sex-related statements with friends in adolescence (F=4.693, p=.001). Therefore, it is necessary to be considered these variables during development of sex educational programs for adults.
