관광자원으로서의 유인도서별 유형화를 통한 특성분석

Specialization Analysis by Typology of Inhabited Islands’ as a Tourist Resource

관광산업은 21세기 단일산업으로는 세계 최대의 산업이며, 특히, 해양레저 스포츠, 크루즈관광 등 해양관광산업은 고부가가치를 창출할 수 있는 산업으로 그 중요성이 더욱 강조되고 있다. 이러한 천혜의 해양관광자원 보유국임에도 불구하고 지금까지 너무나 단편적인 내륙지향형의 관광개발을 추진하여 해양관광이 활성화되지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 관광자원으로서의 도서 유형화 및 도서별 특성분석을 통하여 개선방안을 제시하고 나아가 우리나라 도서관광 활성화를 위하여 도서개발방향을 모색하고자 하였다. 우리나라의 유인도서를 유형화한 결과 4가지 유형으로 분류할 수 있다. 첫째, 생활기반시설이 우선적으로 강화되어야하는 낙후형도서, 둘째, 규모 및 문화관광의 특성이 강한 거점관광형 도서, 셋째, 자연환경적 관광요소와 체험관광 시설이 많은 자연 및 체험관광형 도서, 넷째, 관광인프라는 양호하나, 관광시설의 수가 비교적 적은 도서인 잠재관광형 도서로 유형화하였다. 각 유형별 관광활성화 방안과 유형간 연계방안에 대하여 제시하였다. 효율적인 도서개발을 실행하기 위해서는 각 도서의 특성이나 개발 잠재력을 토대로 유형별 혹은 차등적이며, 단계적인 개발이 필요하다. 따라서 도서지역의 특성에 따른 합리적 개발은 도서주민의 복지 및 소득향상의 도모뿐 아니라, 도서관광자원 개발, 해양자원 개발 등 다양한 부문에서 큰 보탬이 될 것이다.

Over the recent years, economic growth has been driving tourism to be diversified, popularized, become luxurious and global, which has helped the tourism industry emerge as a futuristic industry for the 21st century which can create a great number of jobs and huge income, making it world’s number 1 industry alone. This study analyzed the features of each island by classifying the inhabited remote islands throughout the country. These cannot reflect each feature of the island so the development was settled uniformly and the study on island development lacked of rational analysis and solutions. A study classified all inhabited remote island into tourism resource and analyzed each island’s features and compared this study and existing study’s classified variables and classified method, the study found that the challenge of classifying using island as tourism index and thus believe that this classification of island by it’s features as a tourism resource would have enough value to conduct the study. The classification may not be an absolute standard but this study would be able to classify island in the terms of tourism and will provide useful data in establishing island tourism development policy and related regulations.
