간호학생의 간호사 윤리강령에 대한 인식과 전문직업관과의 관계

Awareness Towards Code of Ethics for Korean Nurses and Nursing Professionalism Among Nursing Students

본 연구는 간호학생의 한국 간호사 윤리강령에 대한 인식과 전문직업관에 대해 알아보고 이들의 관련성을 파악하기 위해 시도되었다. 임상실습 1년 이상의 경험을 가진 간호학생 285명을 대상으로 질문지 조사를 실시하였다. 본 연구 결과, 간호학생의 윤리강령에 대한 인식 점수는 4.04점(5점 만점), 전문직업관 3.80점(5점 만점)으로 나타났다. 학교에서 간호윤리교육을 받은 그룹과 자신의 윤리적 기준이 확고한 그룹이 윤리강령 인식과 전문직업관 점수가 높았다. 윤리강령의 하부 영역 중 가장 높은 인식 점수를 보인 영역은 ‘간호사와 협력자’로 4.10점이었으며, 세부 항목으로는 ‘사생활 보호 및 비밀유지’ 항목이 4.39점으로 가장 높게 나타났다. 윤리강령 인식 점수가 높은 상위그룹과 하위그룹간의 평균 점수에서 차이가 많았던 5개의 윤리강령 항목은 ‘교육과 연구’, ‘전문적 활동’, ‘정의와 신뢰의 증진’, ‘건강 환경 구현’, ‘취약한 대상자 보호’였다. 윤리강령 인식 정도와 전문직업관간은 양의 상관관계를 보였으며(r=0.494, p<0.001), 윤리강령 인식 점수에 따른 전문직업관의 차이 분석에서, 인식 점수가 높은 그룹이 전문직업관 점수가 높음을 알 수 있었다(t=7.948, p<0.001). 따라서 윤리강령에 대한 간호학생들의 인식 고취는 간호학생들의 바람직한 전문직업관을 정립하는데 도움을 줄 수 있다.

This study investigated the correlation between awareness towards code of ethics for Korean nurses and nursing professionalism among nursing students. Structured questionnaires were administered to 285 nursing students. The mean awareness of nursing students toward code of ethics score was 4.04 (out of 5), and mean nursing professionalism was 3.80 (out of 5). There were significant differences in awareness towards code of ethics and nursing professionalism by completion of nursing ethics education in school or their own ethical standards. The highest sub-domain of code of ethics was ‘nurse and cooperator 4.10, and the highest item was ‘respect of patients privacy and confidentiality 4.39. The awareness towards code of ethics and nursing professionalism were positively correlated (r=0.494, p<0.001). Regarding the difference in professionalism in groups that earned varying scores of awareness towards the code of ethics, the group with awareness score in the upper quartile had higher nursing professionalism than that with scores in the lower quartile (t=7.948, p<0.001). Raising awareness of code of ethics for nurse can help nursing student have a desirable nursing occupational insight.
