초등학교 여교사의 학생선수 지도 경험의 의미와 여교사의 운동부 참여 활성화 방안

Experience of Female Elementary School Teachers in Teaching Student-Athletes and Activation of Female Teachers’ Participation

본 연구는 초등학교에서 여교사들이 한 해 동안 운동부를 함께 지도한 경험의 의미를 살펴보고 이를 토대로 초등학교 여교사의 운동부 참여 활성화 방안을 탐색하는 데 목적이 있었다. 이를 위해 세 명의 여교사를 연구 참여자로 선정하여 심층면담을 실시하고 포토보이스, 문서 자료 등을 수집하였다. 자료 분석의 방법은 Spradley(1979)가 제안한 영역분석과 분류분석을 활용하였다. 연구 결과, 연구 참여자들은 한 해 동안 학생선수들을 지도하면서 운동부 활동에 대한 즐거움과 자기 인식, 인문적 소양을 갖춘 전인적인 학생선수로의 성장을 돕는 경험을 하였다. 코치 및 학부모와의 협력체계를 구축하는 과정에서는 교육관 및 진로 지도에 대한 인식, 관점의 차이로 갈등과 어려움을 겪었다. 또한 학생선수 지도교사로서 자신을 돌아보며 전문지식 축적의 한계와 운동부 지도의 동인의 한계를 경험하였다. 마지막으로 운동부 지도영역의 전문화, 운동부 지도 주체 간의 소통구조 형성, 예비교사교육 단계로부터 운동 및 운동부에 대한 관심과 수업지식의 축적을 초등학교 여교사의 운동부 참여 활성화 방안으로 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the significance of female elementary school teachers’ experiences teaching student-athletes for a year, exploring ways to activate the participation of female teachers in school athletic clubs. For this purpose, in-depth interviews, photovoice and document materials were conducted with female teachers selected as participants for the study. The collected data were analyzed using domain analysis and classification analysis of Spradley (1979). The study findings showed the following: Research participants had experiences to help student-athletes encounter the enjoyments of exercise and self-awareness, growing as a whole person with humanistic literacy after teaching the students for a year. However, they went through conflicts and difficulties in the process of building a cooperative system with coaches and parents, because of differences in perception and perspective of education and career guidance. They experienced limitations of accumulating expertise, and also dynamic forces about teaching student-athletes by looking back on themselves. Finally, specialization in the field of school athletic clubs, building a communication system between leaders and interest in sports, and accumulating PCK from the stage of preliminary teacher education were suggested as ways to activate the participation of female elementary school teachers in school athletic clubs.
