한국 성인여성들의 우울증과 자살생각에 대한 분석

Analysis on Depression and Suicidal Ideation of Korean Female Adults: by using Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES IV)

우울증은 사람의 감정으로 인한 질병으로 신체 상태뿐만 아니라 자살로 이어질 수 있는 심각한 질병이다. 한국 성인들의 우울증에 대한 대부분의 연구들은 우울증의 취약집단인 노인들에 대한 연구에만 치중되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 제4기 국민건강영양조사자료를 이용하여 만 19세 이상의 한국 성인여성들의 우울증과 자살생각에 대한 실태를 파악하고 위험인자를 조사하였다. 자료의 표본추출방법을 고려한 로지스틱 회귀모형을 적용한 결과, 성인여성의 우울증과 자살생각의 유병율은 각각 4.18%와 22.05%로 나타났다. 우울증의 위험인자로는 결혼상태, 경제활동상태, 흡연, 스트레스, 최근 2주간 질병이환여부, 만성질환의 수가 유의하게 나타났고, 자살생각의 위험인자로는 연령, 결혼상태, 교육수준, 가구 소득수준, 흡연, 스트레스, 주관적 건강상태, 최근 2주간 질병이환여부, 우울증이 유의하게 나타났다. 이와 같이, 우울증과 자살생각의 위험인자에 차이를 보이고 있는데, 우울증은 의사진단여부로 판단한 반면 자살생각은 다소 주관적인 판단으로 조사되었기 때문으로 사료된다. 좀 더 면밀한 도구로 조사된다면 보다 정확한 결과를 얻을 수 있을 것이다.

Depression is an emotional disease which affects on body condition and possibly leads to suicide. Most studies on depression of Korean adults were focused on senior groups who are susceptible to depression. This study is aimed at identifying the prevalence rates and risk factors of depression and suicidal ideation of Korean female adults aged 19 or older by using Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES IV). Applying logistic regression models based on sampling scheme of the data, the prevalence rate of depression and suicidal ideation of Korean female adults were 4.18% and 22.05%, respectively. Risk factors of depression were marital status, employment status, smoking, perceived stress level, morbidity in recent 2 weeks, and number of chronic disease, Risk factors of suicidal ideation were age, marital status, education level, income level, smoking, perceived stress level, perceived health status, morbidity in recent 2 weeks, and depression. There were differences between risk factors of depression and those of suicidal ideation because depression was identified by doctor’s diagnostics, whereas suicidal ideation was surveyed rather subjectively. A careful and thorough examination may be needed for further study.
