Reliability Estimation of a 2-Unit Warm-Standby System with Exponential Lifetime Distribution

The standby system has been recognized as a useful model for reliability studies and life testing experiments. This paper deals with estimating reliability of a 2-unit warm-standby system with exponential lifetime distribution that switch is perfect. First, the maximum likelihood estimation is used to estimate the reliability of the model when data are grouped and type-I censored. Second, the Bayesian estimation is used to estimate the reliability. Third, the generalized maximum likelihood estimation is used to estimate the reliability. Finally, the Bayesian and generalized maximum likelihood for the maximum likelihood estimation will be compared with numerically in terms of various mission times, parameter values in the sense of asymptotic relative efficiency through Monte Carlo simulation.
