지방 중소도시 간호학 전공 학생들의 문제해결능력 영향요인

Factors Influencing Problem Solving Ability of Nursing Students in Local Cities: Focus on Critical Thinking Disposition

본 연구는 지방 중소도시 간호학 전공 학생들의 비판적 사고성향을 중심으로 문제해결능력에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위해 시도된 서술적 조사연구이다. 자료수집 기간은 2011년 1월부터 2011년 4월까지 지방 중소도시에 위치한 2개의 4년제 간호학과와 2개의 전문대학에 재학 중인 간호학생 200명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였다. 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 문제해결능력의 평균점수는 6점 만점에 3.78점이었고, 하위영역별로 접근회피양식이 4.01점으로 가장 높았고 문제해결자신감, 개인의 통제력 순이었다. 비판적 사고성향의 평균점수는 5점 만점에 3.34점이었고 하위영역별 평균점수는 지적정직이 3.75점으로 가장 높았고 신중성, 지적열정과 건전한 회의성, 객관성 순이었다. 일반적 특성에 따른 문제해결능력은 전공연계 봉사활동경험, 간호학 전공만족도, 대인관계에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 일반적 특성에 따른 비판적 사고성향은 전공연계 봉사활동경험, 간호학 전공만족도, 대인관계에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 비판적 사고성향과 문제해결능력의 간의 상관관계를 분석한 결과 통계적으로 유의한 양의 상관관계를 보였다(r=.579, p<.01). 다중회귀분석 결과 성별, 학년, 전공연계 봉사활동에 따라 문제해결능력에 차이가 있었으며 비판적 사고성향의 하위영역 중 지적열정과 건전한 회의성, 지적정직, 신중성, 객관성이 문제해결능력의 영향요인으로 확인되었다(F=19.230, p<.001). 간호 교육자들은 대학생들의 문제해결능력을 증진시키기 위해 스스로 내적인 동기에 의해 비판적 사고성향을 향상시키기 위한 교수학습전략이 요구된다.

The purpose of this study was to identify the factors predicting problem solving ability in nursing students. A convenient sample was drawn from 200 nursing students. Data were collected from January 2011 to April 2011. The collected data were analyzed using t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression with SPSS 15.0 The mean score for problem solving ability was 3.78 and critical thinking disposition was 3.34. For general characteristics, there were statistically signigicant differences in problem solving ability according to volunteering related to nursing, satisfaction for nursing major, and interpersonal relationship. There were statistically signigicant differences in critical thinking disposition according to volunteering related to nursing, satisfaction for nursing major, and interpersonal relationship. A statistically positive correlation was found between critical thinking disposition and problem solving ability (r=.579, p<.01). Critical thinking disposition was significant predictor of problem solving ability (F=19.230, p<.001). The findings of this study indicate that critical thinking disposition influences problem solving ability. Therefore, the findings suggested that the importance of critical thinking disposition be considered when developing nursing student education.
