Objective : The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of Laser acupuncture(LA) on headache caused by Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome(RHS). Methods : A 57-year-old female patient finishing antiviral-steroid therapy suffered from headaches caused by RHS. She had already been treated with Korean Medicine(KM) to improve her immunity and enhance her recovery, so laser acupuncture was added to the KM treatment to control her headache. LA was carried out once per day between June 18-25, 2018. The treatment effect was assessed by Korean Headache Impact Test-6(Korean HIT-6), Visual Analog Scale(VAS) and Headache diary. Results : After five treatment sessions, Korean HIT-6 score decreased from 70 to 48, VAS score decreased from 3.5 to 0.3, and the headache area also decreased. Conclusions : The results suggest that LA may be a good choice as an KM intervention for pain controlling in RHS headache.
