대학생의 비판적 사고성향과 생애핵심능력과의 관계

The Relationship between Critical Thinking Disposition and Lifelong Core Competency of College Students

본 연구는 대학생의 비판적 사고성향과 생애핵심능력 정도를 조사하고 이들 간의 관계를 파악하고자 시행하였다. 연구대상자는 연구 참여에 동의한 대전소재 4년제 1개 대학교에 다니는 대학생 191명의 답변이 분석에 포함되었다. 대학생의 비판적 사고성향과 생애핵심능력과의 관계를 파악하기 위해서 기술통계, 상관관계, 단계별 다중회귀분석을 사용하였다. 비판적 사고성향과 생애핵심능력인 의사소통능력(r=.299, p<.001), 문제해결능력(r=.531, p<.001), 자기주도적 학습능력(r=.524, p<.001)은 모두 유의한 순상관관계를 나타내었다. 의사소통능력에 영향을 미치는 비판적 사고성향 하위영역의 변인은 창의성과 개방성이었으며 8.7%의 설명력을 나타내었다(F=10.041, p<.001). 문제해결능력에 영향을 미치는 변인은 탐구성, 신중성, 도전성, 객관성, 개방성이었으며 41.4%의 설명력(F=27.877, p<.001)을 나타내었고, 자기주도적 학습능력에 영향을 미치는 변인은 지적통합성, 신중성, 탐구성으로 30.4%의 설명력(F=28.675, p<.001)을 나타내었다. 도전성과 진실추구를 제외한 비판적 사고성향 하위영역이 대학생의 생애핵심능력에 유의한 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났다. 따라서 대학생의 생애핵심능력을 향상시키기 위해서는 비판적 사고성향을 강화시킬 필요가 있으며 이를 향상시키기 위한 교육프로그램의 개발과 적용이 필요하다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between critical thinking disposition and lifelong core competency of college students. As a descriptive study, a total of 191 students in Daejeon were included in this study. Stepwise multiple regression was used to investigate the effect of critical thinking disposition on lifelong core competency of college students. The most significant factors that affected communication competency of college students were creativity and open-mindness which were parts of subdomains of critical thinking disposition, these factors explained 8.7% of the variances. Subdomains of critical thinking disposition affecting problem solving competency were inquisitiveness, prudence, challenge, objectivity and open-mindness; these factors explained 41.4% of the variances. And those of self-directed learning competency were intellectual integrity, prudence and inquisitiveness; these factors explained 30.4% of the variances. In conclusion, to enhance lifelong core competency of college students, it seems necessary to develop and utilize the programs that enhances critical thinking disposition.
