KTX 개통 전ㆍ후 서울시 지역별 철도수단 선택 변화 비교

Comparison of Rail Mode Share by District between Before and After KTX Opening in Seoul

2004년 개통 이후 대표적 지역 간 교통수단으로 자리매김한 KTX는 서울시 통행자의 지역 간 교통수단선택에 상당한 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 판단된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 KTX개통 이전과 이후에 서울에서 출발한 지역 간 통행에 있어서 철도수단선택의 패턴이 서울시 지역별(구별)로 어떻게 변화되었는지를 분석하였다. 이러한 분석을 위하여 철도 수단에 대한 이용자의 선호도를 통행 출발지에 대한 공간적 영향을 고려한 공간수단선택모형을 구축하였다. 이를 위해 일반화선형모형과 조건부자기회귀모형을 결합하여 베이지안(Bayesian) 방법인 마코프 연쇄 몬테칼로(Markov chain Monte Carlo) 기법을 적용하여 적합하였다. 분석결과 인접한 지역들 간의 연관성의 강도는 통계적으로 유의하지 않게 나타났으나 고급 교통수단인 KTX가 개통되기 전의, 철도역에서 상당히 떨어져 있던 지역들인 강남구, 송파구 등에서의 철도 이용자가 KTX 개통 이후에 다소 증가한 것으로 나타났다.

KTX has become a popular transport mode connecting Seoul and major cities since its opening in 2004 which may affect on the decision of mode choice in Seoul. This study compares the probabilities of rail mode choice between before and after the KTX opening at the 25 districts in Seoul. The statistical models considered here are spatial logistic regression model and conditional autoregressive model taking a spatial association parameter into account. The Bayesian approach is applied to obtain more reliable parameter estimates. Although the sample sizes are different between before and after KTX opening and the spatial association was not statistically significant, the results show that the KTX is seen to attract slightly more passengers lived in Kangnam and Songpa, faraway place from the intercity railway stations.
