본고는 장혼이 편찬, 간행한 『詩宗』에 관한 연구이다. 『시종』은 여항인 최초로 편찬한 중국 시선집으로, 우리 손으로 엮고 간행한 몇 안 되는 중국 역대 시선집이다. 여기에는 장혼의 시론이 반영되어 있을 뿐만 아니라 18세기 말~19세기초 시단의 일정한 흐름을 읽을 수 있다. 『시종』을 구체적으로 살펴보면 시체로는 雜言에서 7언 배율까지, 시대는 古逸에서 명까지를 그 수록범위로 하고 있다. 그 중심에 고시와 당시가 놓여있다. 고시에는 5언 고시, 근체 시는 율시, 그 중 7언 율시가 가장 높은 비중으로 수록되었다. 시체별, 시대별, 대표적 작가들의 성과와 기존 선집들의 전통을 충실히 반영하였고 그 위에 자신의 기호와 안목을 바탕으로 재편집하여 객관적이고도 공정한 시각을 확보하고자 하였다. 내용은 인간의 일상 생활에서 일어날 수 있는 정감의 다양한 측면을 모두 보여주고자 하였다. 고시와 당시를 통해 시도를 회복하고자 하는 이러한 복고지향적인 시의식은 정조의 시관과도 그 맥을 같이 하고 있다. 이점에서 ‘성령’을 외치며 진보적 사유를 지녔던 후배 여항인들과 장혼을 동일 선상에서 논의하는 것은 재고해 볼 문제라고 하겠다.
This study is about [SiJong], edited and published by Janghon. [SiJong], the first collection of poems by a common people: it is few of chinese poems whic h was edited and published by our own effort. In this [SiJong], Janghon’s values was reflec ted. Also we c an grasp the poem’s streaming of late 18c to early 19 c. [Sijong] consist of various SiChe which is from Japun to 7 un and long history which is from Goil to Ming dynasty. Gosi and Dangsi is the best of all. 5unGosi has the most parts of Gosi and 7un Si has the most parts of Gnchesi. It contains writers’ works and their tradition even their own taste and perspec tive. It contains many aspects of emotions that could happen in daily life. What this peoms pursue is like the one Jongjo pursues in his perspective. It is reconsiderable to discuss common people claiming ‘Sungrung’ and Janghon on the same line.
