書論에 나타난 美育的 要素에 관한 小考

서화 미육 중 서예의 性情陶冶的 美育과 書如其人的 美育은 오늘날에 계시하는 바가 크다. 과거와 다른 삶과 도구를 사용하는 오늘날에는 이러한 방법을 적용하기는 어렵다. 다만 마음의 표현과 수양이란 점을 강조하는 미육적 요소는 오늘날 문화예술교육에 일정 부분 적용할 수 있는 여지는 있다. 그리고 이러한 서화에서의 미육적 요소는 오늘날 문화예술교육이 지향하는 근본원리로서 작용해야 한다는 점에서는 타당하다고 본다. 그러므로 書藝는 性情을 도야할 뿐만 아니라 美育에 부합하는 性格과 感情을 배양할 수 있고, 서예는 붓과 먹으로 화선지에 글을 쓰는 것만이 아니다 라는 점에 주목하게 된다. 그러므로 서예는 창작자의 마음[心]을 표현하며 주체적으로 드러나는 예술이란 점이 강조 된다는 점이다. 이처럼 창작자의 인격 및 감정, 정체성을 강조하는 서예는 인성함양을 지향하는 예술이면서 미육적 효과가 매우 큰 예술이다.
