공정한 세상에 대한 믿음이 청소년의 정치적 태도에 미치는 영향과 학급풍토의 조절효과

The effects of belief in a just world on the political attitude of adolescents and the moderating role of the class climate

본 연구는 청소년들이 가진 공정한 세상에 대한 믿음이 정치적 태도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살펴보고, 이 과정에서 학급풍토의 조절효과를 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 서울과 경기도에 재학 중인 중학교 1학년~고등학교 1학년 학생 524명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하고, 위계적 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 첫째, 공정한 세상에 대한 믿음은 청소년의 정치효능감과 정치신뢰감에 정(+)적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 학급풍토가 개방적일수록 청소년의 정치효능감과 정치신뢰감이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 공정한 세상에 대한 믿음과 청소년의 정치신뢰감의 관계에서 학급풍토의 조절효과가 확인되었다. 본 연구 결과는 청소년의 정치적 태도 형성에 있어 이들이 가진 공정한 세상에 대한 믿음이라는 요인이 중요함을 보여준다. 그리고 세상이 불공정하다는 인식으로 인해 정치적 불신을 보이는 청소년을 대상으로 학급풍토를 개선함으로써 학생들의 부정적인 정치적 태도를 완화시킬 수 있는 가능성을 시사한다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of belief in a just world on the political attitude of adolescents and to verify whether class climate moderates the relationship. To this end, a total of 524 middle and high school students located in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do were surveyed and hierarchical regression analysis was conducted. The results showed that, first, it was found that belief in a just world had a positive effect on youth s political efficacy and political confidence. Second, the more open the class climate, the higher the political efficacy and political confidence. Third, in the relationship between belief in a just world and the political attitude of adolescents, it appeared that the class climate played a moderating role. The results of this study suggest that belief in a just world is a important factor in the formation of the political attitude of youth. And to alleviate negative political attitudes among students who believe that the world is not just the class climate should be improved.
