In Korea, it demanded traffic policeman of optimum scale to cope with Increased traffic police work efficiently. The purpose of this thesis is to survey empirically to optimum level of traffic policeman in the police officials. It divides into two parts largely, the one proposes optimum level of traffic policeman through theoretical argument, the other provide opinions about traffic activity through questionnaire method from the citizen and traffic policeman to posses empirical validity. The results of this thesis are judged to contribute in police personnel policy, namely the traffic policeman s change and basic policy, the foundation and cognition for traffic policeman s optimum, understanding of the citizen demand to traffic police service etc.
