The present study intends to find out the relations between job stress and job performance by analyzing the job stressors that local civil servants may have at work and to reveal how those job stressors influence job stress and how job stress affects job performance in turn. A practical research method has been employed to verify the analysis as well as literature studies pertaining to the purposes of the study. Data acquired from questionaires have been processed statistically through Factor Analysis, Correlation, Regression and Frequency. The results are as follows First, the supposition is validated that job stressors are related to job stress. It is found that role ambiguity is lightly connected with job stress but the rest of job stressors are important factors that may influence job stress. Second, the assumption that job stress may influence organizational performance is also supported. It is found that job stress is negatively related to job performance. Third, the assumption is supported that if job stressors differ depending on sex, job performance may differ between sexes in relation to job stress. As for females, role conflict, job characteristics and role overload are included among job stressor that may cause job stress and job stress is found to influence job performance. For males, leadership style, role conflict, discriminative consciousness and role overload and found to be job stressors and job stress influence job performance. Thus it is conduded by the present study that there exists sexual difference in terms of job stressors and job performance that can be influenced by job stress.
