지방NGO의 책임성 확보

Accountability of Local Non-Governmental Organizations

In recent years, accountability of Non-Governmental Organizations(NGOs) has assumed a new significance. Increase prominence and greater influence expose NGOs to increased demands for accountability from a wide variety of stakeholders. The purpose of this study is to analyze accountability of local NGOs by focusing on Daegu Ecological park creation and to suggest of the mechanism of accountability for NGOs. Accountability is a concept that takes a three-part predicate. Accountability is of some agent to some other agent for some state of affairs. This paper suggests that accountability arises from the demands placed upon NGOs by the rise of pluralism, professionalism and consumerism. In methodology, accountability of local Non- Governmental Organizations is analyzed in terms of internal accountability, policy(programme) accountability, accountability to whom. Major findings in this study are that local NGOs is very weak to recognize of accountability and absence of the mechanism to control accountability for NGOs. Alternative spheres of accountability is government regulators, peer regulators, charity constituents and the general public.
