문화적 세계화에 대한 비판적 성찰

A Critical Study on Cultural Globalization

오늘날 신자유주의에 의해 수행되는 세계화는 이상과 달리 선진국의 이익과 기만이 배합된 제국주의의 다른 이름에 불과하다. 이는 문화에서도 예외가 아니다. 주로 미국에 의해 수행되는 문화적 세계화는 규모의 경제, 강력한 국가적 지원, 시너지 효과, 프런티어·이민 문화 자체의 특성, 철저한 상업주의, 영어 제국주의라는 여섯 가지 이유에 근거해 강화되고 있다. 이러한 미국 중심의 문화적 세계화는 비록 반론도 있으나 문화가 정치·경제 등의 외적 요소와 맺는 밀접한 관계를 고려할 때 타당하다고 사료된다. 한편, 이에 맞서 대두하고 있는 대안적 문화보기가 바로 ‘글로컬’이다. 이는 지역 또는 국가의 주민들이 공유하는 기제에 의해 형성되는 문화코드에 의해 수행되며, 문화적 자긍심에 의해 좌우된다. 문화가 고정된 불변의 가치가 아니라 약동하는 생명력을 가진 기제라는 점을 감안할 때, 이러한 글로컬은 새로운 문화를 형성하는 혼종화를 위해 기능할 것이다. 이와 같은 문제의식에서 본고는 정치·경제, 윤리적 측면에서 신자유주의의 이중성과, 문화 산업에서 미국 대중문화의 폐해를 살펴보았다. 그리고 글로컬에 관한 여러 이론들을 살펴보았으며 이를 수행하는 나라들로 인도, 프랑스, 일본의 사례를 간략하게 살펴보고 나름의 결론을 도출하였다.

In this article, I will attempt to considered to globalization especially some cultural aspect and to outline an alternative reading of that. In recent years, numerous studies have attempted to assistance for globalization. And we have the capability of observe that the phenomenon of globalization has emerged twenty years and it performed on neoliberalism. Neoliberals and free traders insist that it makes better the world: “plat and unified.” But this assertion show us that lopsided view of a number of powerful nation. Globalization has great advantage to advanced country like the United States. Viewing to the cultural globalization(in French word ‘Mondialisation’), America’s popular culture work for reinforce of it’s cultural imperialism. Incidentally, glocalization as a new alternative paradigm expected to will implementation for mature, true, and more cultural various world. It suppose that the world is not flat. And it involves ‘Culture Code’ that formed from nationality based on history, society, and many types of custom. So I noticed some countries for tried to declare it’s own mean. That Countries, India, France, and Japan are well organized and have great proud of their own culture. In this overall perspective, then, we are able to identify instances of some our cultural contents. it has not our native culture. We must improve that. In general terms, what all this shows is that the way alternative interpret to culture. An implication of this finding is that glocalization will overcome cultural globalization. But several questions merit discussion. Considerable studies to elaborate way are needed.
