이 연구는 공연예술에서 영상 미디어의 효과는 어떠한가, 영상 미디어의 활용이 제작자와 관객에게 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 살펴보고, 부산시립예술단의 공연 중에서 영상 미디어를 사용하였던 공연에 대한 분석을 중심으로 공연예술에서 영상 미디어가 구체적으로 어떻게 활용되고 있는가를 살펴보는 탐색적 연구이다. 영상 미디어는 그 형태에 따라 사진ㆍ삽화, 영화, 실시간 중계영상, 비디오영상으로 나눌 수 있으며, 각 미디어는 서로 다른 효과를 지니고 있다. 영상 미디어를 활용한 시ㆍ공간의 확장을 통해 제작자는 자유롭게 스토리를 구상하게되어 상상력과 표현력의 확대로 이어진다. 영상 미디어를 활용한 공연예술의새로운 구조를 경험한 관객은 공연 작품을 더 깊게 이해하고 몰입하게 되며,새로운 경험을 통해 더 큰 즐거움을 느끼게 된다. 부산시립예술단의 여러 공연단에서 사진ㆍ삽화, 영화, 실시간 중계영상, 비디오영상 등의 영상 미디어가 골고루 활용되어 공연의 수준을 제고하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 향후 연구에서는 보다 다양한 공연을 대상으로 영상 미디어의 활용에 대해 분석함으로써 공연 예술에서 영상 미디어의 활용에 대한체계적인 분석틀을 마련하였으면 한다.
In this study, the researches on the effect of visual media and the impact of visual image utilization on producers and audiences in performing arts were reviewed. And then, visual media utilization in Busan City Art Organization was analysed focusing on several performances. Visual media in preforming arts are photo, illustration, movie clips,real-time broadcast and video. Each medium has a different effect. Through the extension of time and space by using visual media, producers can make various stories overcoming the limitation of our imagination and expression. New story structure in performing arts developed by using visual media can help audiences comprehend performances more deeply and be absorbed in performances. New experience results in pleasure. In many performances of Busan City Art Organization, visual media such as photo, illustration, movie clips, real-time broadcast and video were utilized to enhance the quality of performance. Future research should be contributed to make a systematic analysis frame for the utilization of visual media in performing arts by analysing more various performances.
