일본 전통문화의 재해석과 현대적 활용

Reinterpretation of Japanese Traditional Culture and Its Modern Utilization - Focused on Japanesque and Aomori Nebuta Matsuri

이 연구는 <신일본양식>과 <아오모리 네부타 마츠리>를 분석 자료로 활용하여 일본이 전통을 어떻게 재해석하고 첨단기술을 접목해 전통의 감성적·기능적 가치를 향상(개선)시키며 산업과 상품에 적용(융합)시키는지를 고찰하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 전통문화의 현대적 활용은 전통이 세대를 거듭하여 ‘전傳’하면서 과거와 현재 그리고 미래로 ‘통通’해 새롭게 만들어져가는 과정 즉 ‘소통’의 차원이 중요하다는 점을 감안하여 이루어져야 한다. 전통문화의 재해석과 활용을 단지 경제적 가치만을 목적으로 한 콘텐츠 제작에만 집중하고 있지는 않은지, ‘和’라는 전통가치를 현대콘텐츠로 되살리고 과거와 현대를 잇는 소통의 통로로 충분히 활용하는 일본의 사례가 한국의 전통문화의 현대적 활용에 시사점을 제시할 수 있을 것이다.

The thesis studies how Korea can make the best use looking at how Japan set about doing this by analyzing ‘Japanesque modern’ and ‘Aomori Nebuta matsuri’. By utilizing traditional culture contemporary design can be transmitted to posterity - good design that synthesizes the past and the present can work as a bridge linking the fine traditions of the past, the spontaneity of the present, and the infinite promise of the future. The work will also appraise and examine the social dimension as a critical factor in the design process. Producing items that only possess an economic value is not an appropriate approach in reinterpreting traditional culture and fully utilizing its inherent qualities. The thesis will focus on how Japan has recreated ‘cultural cohesion’ as a traditional value and applied the concept to modern content. Moreover, Japanese designers have also used it as a passage of communication connecting the past with the present, in applying these lessons we can see how Korean traditional culture can be reappraised, revitalized and applied to the design of a great variety of contemporary designs.
