상주 읍지 『商山誌』에 수록된 漢詩의 기능과 의미

Function and Meaning of Chinese Poems Collected in 『Sangsanji(商山誌)』, Sangju(尙州) Eupji(邑誌)

『商山誌』는 1617년(광해 8) 蒼石 李埈(1560~1635)이 제작한 尙州 지역 최초의 私撰 읍지이다. 이는 후대에 간행된 여타 읍지와 비교하기 위해 蒼石本이라 일컫는데 여기에는 이전 官撰 지리지에서 다루지 못한 다양한 상주 지역상을 담고 있을 뿐 아니라 한시 작품이 대량 수록되어 있어, 간행 시기를 기점으로 한 상주의 역사와 문화를 이해하는 데에 매우 유용한 자료라 할 수 있다. 이에 창석본을 대상으로 수록 한시 현황을 파악하고 그 속에서의 한시의 기능과 의미를 탐토한 결과, 창석 이준을 중심으로 한 상주 지역 사족들의 동향과 긴밀하게 연동되어 있다는 사실을 확인하였다. ‘題詠’ 조항 내 한시 작품군은 상주의 다양한 공간을 소개하기 위한 이미지 삽입 기능, 공간을 중심으로 한 특정 인물을 현양하는 기능, 元韻과 해당 次韻을 함께 수록함으로써 관련 작자간 연대의식을 조성하는 기능, 그리고 선별 작가군 명단을 통해 간행 당시 상주 사족들의 동향을 파악하는 기능 등을 두루 지니고 있다는 사실을 확인하였다. 즉, 『상산지』에서 한시는 문학성을 검증하고 작품을 감상하기 위한 문학 장르로 편제되기보다, 읍지라는 문헌적 성격에 맞게 해당 지역을 보다 생동감있게 소개하기 위한 도구이자, 간행 당시 지역 사족들의 동향과 그들의 정치적 입장을 드러내는 방편으로 기능하고 있는 것이다.

『Sangsanji(商山誌)』 is the first Eupji(邑誌) privately published in Sangju(尙州), which was written by Changseok Leejun(1560~1635) in 1617. For the comparison with other Eupjis published in the next generation, it is called Changseokbon(蒼石本), and it includes not only a variety of regional conditions of Sangju, which have not been engaged by previous geography sections publicly published, but also a lot of Chinese poems, so it has been data very useful for understanding the history and culture of Sangju, since the publication of it. By examining the status of Chinese poems contained in Changseokbon and exploring the function and meaning of them, it could find that it was closely connected to the tendency of nobel families around Changseok Leejun in Sangju. From the set of Chinese poems under the provision of ‘Jeyeong(題詠)’, the following functions were found: the insertion of images, for introducing various spaces in Sangju; the introduction of certain figures around spaces; the promotion of cohesion among related authors by gathering both Wonun(元韻) and its Chaun(次韻); and the understanding of noble families in Sangju during the publication of it, through the list of selected authors names. It should be thus noted that the Chinese poems in 『Sangsanji』 function as tools for vividly introducing the region given the literary character of Eupji and measures for representing the tendency of local nobel families and their political stances when it was published, rather than are organized in a literary genre, for verifying literary qualities or appreciating works.
