본 논문은 이장식 한신대 명예교수의 신학적 역사 이해에서 찾을 수 있는 통전적 특성을 반추하려는 시도다. 연구의 방법으로, 혜암의 종말론적 직선사관과 니시타니 게이지의 윤회적 순환사관의 통전주의 모색을 시도했다. 이어 두 사관의 통전주의를 통한 나선형적 순환사관의 신학적 의의를 소개하고 있다. 혜암의 종말론적 직선사관과 니시타니 게이지의 순환사관은 인간의 자기중심성을 이용해 신을 고갈 혹은 피폐화 시키는 일에 반기를 드는 요소들을 포함하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이 논문에서 인간의 자기중심성 포기는 ‘상(象) 없는 신성’을 일구는 그리스도교의 우상 파괴 전통을 확립하는 길을 재확인하며 향후 나선형적 순환사관이 신학적 역사 이해로서 가질 수 있는 긍정적 기능을 고찰해 보았다.
This essay is an attempt to ruminate the integrative characteristic to be found in the theological history understanding of Dr. Hye-am C.S. Lee, an Emeritus Professor of Hanshin University. As a method of research, attempts were made to seek the holisticism of Hye-am s eschatological a linear view of history and Nisitani Gage s a circular view of history. Next, I introduce the theological significance of spiraling circulatory thought through Integrative characteristic. It was found that Hye-am s eschatological linear view of history and Nishitani Gage s a circular view of history contain elements that revolt in depleting or ravaging God through human self-centeredness. In this essay, abandoning the self-centeredness of human beings is a way to establish a tradition of christian’s idol destruction that leads to imageless divinity , and then examines the positive functions that the spiral circulation view of history can have as an understanding of theological history in the future.
