The two genealogies of production technique in bronze mirrors with Nebula Design

樂浪郡 設置以後 韓半島에서는 多鏡에서 前漢鏡으로 청동거울이 점차 바뀌게 된다. 특히 平壤地域과 嶺南地域을 중심으로 발견되는 전한경 중에서 성운문경은 이른 시기에 속하는 것이다. 이러한 성운문경의 제작기술은 크게 두 가지로 구분이 가능하다. 첫 번째는 範에 직접문양을 새겨서 만드는 것이며, 두 번째는 原型을 만들어 그것을 점토나 기타 무른 재질의 재료를 이용하여 찍어내기 기법을 통해 범을 製作鑄造하는 것이다. 대다수의 성운문경이 전자의 기술을 이용하여 만들어지지만, 傳 平壤 출토품은 후자의 방법으로 제작되었다. 이러한 차이는 다른 형식의 한경에서도 확인할 수 있었다. 단언 할 수는 없지만 이상을 기초로 볼 때, 동경을 만드는 두 가지의 기술은 동일한 형식의 동경에서 확인되는바, 시기적인 차이에 따른 제작기술의 변화라기보다는 제작 집단의 차이라고 생각된다.

After establishment of Nangnang(Ch Lelang樂浪郡), Danew-mirrors(多鈕鏡) had been gradually turned into bronze mirrors(漢鏡) of Han dynesty in Korean peninsula. Especially, Bronze mirrors with Nebula Design(星雲文鏡) which were excavated from Pyeongyang(平壤) and the southeastern part date back to the earlier stage than others. We can roughly devide into two ways to produce Bronze mirrors with Nebula Design; one is direct carven pattern on them; the other is making prototype and pressing them on Bronze mirrors with Nebula Design. Most of the Bronze mirrors with Nebula Design were manufactured by the former way of production, whereas the only articles from Pyeongyang were manufactured by the latter way. Also I could verify these differences among the bronze mirrors of other different types. I can`t say positively, as stated above, I might conclude it from that; the two techniques which make bronze mirror result from the difference of production group rather than from the technical development with the passage of time, because it is based on the bronze mirror of the identical type.
