東北型石刀에 대한 小考

A study of the Far East-type Knives

무문토기시대에 일상생활용의 나이프로 사용되었을 것으로 추정되는 동북형석도는 豆滿江流域과 吉林省의 松花湖 周邊, 그리고 沿海州 南部를 중심으로 분포하는데, 최근에는 남한의 東海岸에 인접한 지역에서도 출토예가 늘어나고 있다. 이 석기는 지금까지 주걱칼, 異形石器, 돌낫, 가죽 베는 칼 등으로 불려져 왔던 것인데, 주요 분포지역인 동북지역과 동해안지역은 서로 문화적 계통성을 같이하는 물질자료가 확인되고 있다. 따라서 이 석기를 동북형석도로 명명함으로써 용도뿐만 아니라 역사적문화적인 의미도 함께 내포할 수 있을 것이다. 형식분류는 크게 ⅠⅡⅢ類의 세 형식으로 구분되지만, 뚜렷한 선후관계를 보이기 보다는 공존양상이 두드러진다. 주 분포지역인 두만강유역에서 Ⅰ류가 압도적인 것을 보면, 이것이 가장 대표적인 형식이다. 이것을 받아들인 남한의 동해안지역에는 ⅡⅢ류와 같은 변화형도 많다. 최근 부리형석기, 원추형방추차, 성형석부, 파수부심발형토기 등에서 영동영남지역과 동북지역과의 문화적 계통성이 고려되고 있는데, 동북형석도 역시 그러한 개연성을 높여주고 있다. 이러한 물질자료의 공통성 이면에는 동해안 일대의 유사한 지형 조건도 작용하고 있었다. 따라서 두만강유역~동한만지역~영동지역~영남동해안지역을 ‘東海文化圈’으로 설정해도 좋을 것이다.

The Far East-Type Knives are things of daily necessity. The bounds of distribution is mainly the basin of the Duman River~Donghan Bay~Youngdong region~Youngnam region. Recently it is abundant in the East Sea area of the Korean Peninsula. With the exception of it, the basin of the Duman River and the East Sea area of South Korea are like to genealogy of material culture. Therefore it is suited that it is called the Far East-Type Knives. Typologically, it is three type of Ⅰ·Ⅱ·Ⅲ. In main the bounds of distribution, Ⅰ-type is representation type. In the East Sea area of South Korea, Ⅱ·Ⅲ-type are many. The basin of the Duman River~Donghan Bay~Youngdong region~Youngnam region is not only genealogy of material culture but also natural environment. Therefore these areas are abled to the bounds of the East Sea-culture.
