김해 대성동 57호 출토 갑옷

Investigation on Armour Relic #57 Dug out at Daesung-dong, Kimhae

본고는 그동안 정리 및 복원이 마무리 되지 않아 2003년말에 간행된 발굴조사 보고서에 실을 수 없었던 김해 대성동 57호 출토의 갑옷을 보고하고자 하였다. 김해 대성동 57호 출토의 갑옷은 종장판갑과 소찰편으로 크게 나눌 수 있으며, 소찰편은 목을 보호하는 경갑과 허리를 보호하는 요찰로 구분할 수 있다. 종장판갑은 지판 매수 총 15매이며 반원상의 후경판을 지닌 것이다. 소찰편인 경갑은 상연이 둥근 사다리꼴모양의 소찰 여러 매가 연결된 것으로 보이며 요찰은 상원하방의 형태를 가진다. 검토 결과 주목할 점은 종장판갑의 경우 후동부에서 확인되는 수리흔과 측경판의 깃털흔이다. 소찰편은 도굴로 인해 원형을 알 수 없지만 잔존상으로 판단해 볼 때 유기질제 갑옷의 목부분과 허리부분의 철제부속품일 가능성을 상정할 수 있다.

The current paper aims at make a report of Article #57, an armour excavated from the ruins located at Daesung-dong, Kimhae, not inclusive of the coverage investigation carried out around the end of 2003 given insufficient unearthing and restoration works. The relic No. 57 of Daesung area at Kimhae can be broadly categorized into the vertical plate armour and its supplementary fragments dividable to the neck-guarder and waistband. The vertical plate armour, stacked by a total of 15 sheets of plate, consists of semi-circled back plates, while neck-guarders in the fragments are seemingly made by connecting small fragments whose upper part is round and trapezoidal-shaped and waistband is circular-shaped in upper part and straight-shaped in low part. The noteworthy points from the findings, as for vertical plate armour, are traces of water residual in the back side and feather residual in side plate. Though the supplementary fragments are incomplete in their shapes due to exhuming robbery, the remains verifiably raise a presumption that they are the steel-made parts constituting the neck and waist part in the armour made of organic materials.
