거창 정장리 구석기유적의 석기제작소 연구

Lithic Workshop of the Jeongjang-ri Paleolithic Site at Geochang

이 글에서는 구석기시대 석기제작소(Lithic Workshop)를 대상으로 내부에서 출토되는 공반유물에 대해 검토하였고, 실험고고학 분석자료와 접합유물을 통한 구체적인 행위복원을 시도하였다. 다양한 석기구성들이 확인되는 정장리 구석기유적 석기제작소는 어느 한 공간에 대해 반복적이고 인위적인 활동이 이루어진 장소로써 작업장에 대한 인지, 그리고 한 사람 이상의 모임장소로 활용할 수 있는 공간이었던 것으로 보았다. 또한 유물의 집합체적인 의미를 통해 인류의 행위(석기제작과 관련된 생산행위)가 내포된‘공간으로써의 유구’ 로 바라 볼 필요가 있음을 제시하였다. 그리고 접합석기들 간의 상관관계를 통해 제작소 내에서 이루어진 제작행위들을 살펴보았으며, 특정지점에서 확인되는 잔손질된 석기들의 분포를 통해 단순한 제작행위만이 이루어진 것이 아니라 생활에 필요한 전반적인 생산행위가 함께 이루어진 공간으로 해석하였다. 마지막으로 실험고고학적 복원과 죽내리유적과의 비교분석을 통해 살펴본 결과 석기제작소에서는 석기의 제작과 사용 그리고 폐기되는 단계에서 다시 재활용하는 과정이 모두 일정한 범위에서 이루어진 것으로 확인되었다.

This writer is to check and review the behavior pattern of men living in the Paleolithic based on the various lithic assemblage found in the lithic workshop. The lithic workshop may be considered as the place where the repeated and contrived actions were conducted in consideration of various lithic assemblages found in the place. this fact shows how the workshop is used, and also, this fact shows that the workshop provides the cognitive clue and is used as a place where the people get together. I analyze the knapping method used in the workshop based on the correlation between refitted artifacts. The distribution of retouched tools found in the specific place shows that the workshop is the space where the overall works required for the living are conducted instead of place where the simple tool making action is conducted. I analyze the lithic making process and phenomenon by selecting a space through the test. The results of analysis show that the lithic is made, used, wasted and reused in the specific space.
