목관묘 출토 대부조합우각형파수부호의 출현과 의미

The appearance of Mounted Jar with horn-shaped handles excavated from the wooden tomb grave and its significance: Focusing on the Sindaeri Relics at Gyeongsan

본 글은 경산 신대리유적을 중심으로 목관묘 출토 대부조합우각형파수부호를 대상으로 편년함으로써 그 출현과 성격을설명하는데 목적을 두었다. 현재 자료로 볼 때 경산 신대리유적에서 대부조합우각형파수부호의 출현은 기원 1세기 중엽 경이며, 그 하한은 2세기 전엽이다. 대부조합우각형파수부호는 신대리유적 등에서 가장 먼저 출현한 것으로 보이며, 경주 지역에서는 이보다 늦은 2세기 중엽 경에도 목관묘에 부장되어서 대부조합우각형파수부호는 2세기 중엽경까지 존속하였던 것으로 볼 수 있다. 한편, 초기 목곽묘에서 후기 와질토기와 동반되기도 하여서 목관묘에서 목곽묘가 단절적이지 않음을 시사한다. 그러나 대부조합우각형파수부호의 출현과 부장시기는 지역마다 차이가 있어서 경산 신대리유적의 경우 기원 1세기 중엽에 부장되기 시작하여 기원 2세기 전엽까지 단절되지 않고 연속적으로 나타나지만, 경주와 김해 지역의 경우 단절적이거나 특정 시기에 한정하여 부장된다. 지역마다 출현과 존속 기간에서의 차이를 해당지역 내 대부조합우각형파수부호의성격에 의한 것으로 보았다. 경산 신대리유적을 통해 보았을 때, 목관묘에 부장된 대부조합우각형파수부호는 위세품적 성격을 가진 것으로 해석하였다. 대부조합우각형파수부호가 하위 위계의 목관묘에서 부장되는 경주와 김해 지역과는 달리 신대리유적에서는 상위위계에 해당되는 목관묘에서도 출토되고 있어서 대부조합우각형파수부호는 집단의 선호도와 동시에 시간이 흐르면서 위세품적 성격을 띠는 것으로 해석하였다. 한편, 경주나 김해 지역의 예에 비추어 볼 때 동시기 기형의 세부적 차이는 대부조합우각형파수부호가 해당 지역에서 자체 제작된 결과로 해석하였다.

This study aims to figure out the appearance of Mounted Jar with horn-shaped handles excavated from the wooden coffin tomb and its significance annd its character by chronology Based on the current resources, Mounted Jar with horn-shaped handles appeared in the mid of the 1st century AD until the early 2nd century at the latest. While Mounted Jar with horn-shaped handles looks to appear at the earliest at the Sindaeri Relics, it lasted up to the mid 2nd century at Gyeongju area which demonstrates that wooden chamber tomb was not severed from wood coffin tombs as wooden chamber tomb had soft-grayish pottery at the later wooden chamber tombs. However, the appearance and tomb furnishings had different period by regions. For the Sindaeri Relics at Gyeongsan, it began to be furnished in the mid of 1st century up to the early 2nd century without halt, but for Gyeongju and Gimhae, it was inconsistent belonging to specific period. As such, the difference in the appearance and survival seems to be caused by characteristics of Mounted Jar with horn-shaped handles. From the perspective of the Sindaeri Relics at Gyeongsan, there are two meanings of Mounted Jar with hornshaped handles furnished in wooden coffin tombs. Different to Gyeongju and Gimhae where Mounted Jar with horn-shaped handles was used to be put at the lower hierarchy wooden coffin tombs, the Sindaeri Relics had it at the higher hierarchy wooden coffin tombs. Thus, this study interpreted it to have a character demonstrating preference of the community and prestige as time went by. On the other hand, Mounted Jar with horn-shaped handles at Gyeongju or Gimhae at the same period used to be manufactured by themselves with detailed differences of form.
