중국 동북 지역 출토 검파두식 연구

A Study on the Assembling Method of Pommel Fittings in Northeastern China

이 글에서는 중국 동북 지역에서 발견되는 비파형동검에 대하여 검파두식을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 검파두식과 검병에는 조립에 따라 상호 상응하는 형태가 있음을 주목하였으며, 특히 검병과의 관계를 비롯하여 재질, 형태, 조립 방식 등을연구하였다. 총 1~3기로 나누어 살펴보았고, 이를 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 검파두식과 검병은 조립이라는 목적 하에 특정한 형태를 지니게 되고, 이렇게 정해진 형태 외에는 조립이 불가능하다. 즉, 검병과 검파두식의 형태는 대부분 조립을 고려하여 형성된다. 둘째, 청동 검병은 조립이 이루어지는 검파두식에 따라 형태나 계통이 달라지기 때문에 청동 검병을 하나의 기종으로 볼것이 아니라, 조립이 이루어지는 검파두식에 맞추어 기종을 분류하고 각 기종 내에서 형식 변화를 찾아야 한다. 셋째, 중국 동북 지역에서 일어난 검파두식의 변화는 침형 검파두식에서부터 시작되었고, 이 검파두식은 요서 지역에서부터 내몽고 지역과 요동ㆍ길림 지역까지 확산되어 갔다. 넷째, 검파두식을 통해 비파형동검의 계통을 세분화할 수 있으며, 비파형동검은 월형계ㆍ침형계ㆍ요조형계ㆍ수유형계ㆍ격자문형계로 나누어진다. 이는 그동안 검신으로만 비파형동검을 분류하던 관점과는 달리 사용하던 당시의 온전한 형태로 비파형동검을 바라볼 수 있는 새로운 관점을 제시해 줄 수 있다.

In this writing, Liaoning bronze daggers in Northeastern China were reviewed focusing on pommel fittings. The main focus was on the different shapes of pommel fittings and hilts according to their assemblies, andin particular, relation between pommel fittings and hilts along with pommel fittings’ material, shape, andassembling method have been examined. The pommel fitting were divided into 3 phases and through theseworks, the following results have been achieved. First, pommel fittings and hilts have particular shapes as a set for assembly, thus those from different setscannot be assembled. In other words, most pommel fittings and hilts are made with consideration of theirassemblies. Second, since the bronze hilts’ shapes and types differ according to the pommel fittings of the same set,their types should be categorized according to those pommel fittings rather than considering bronze hilts as anindependent type, and then try to track typological change within the categorized types. Third, a change in pommel fittings in Northeastern China began within the pillow-shaped ones and thesepommel fittings have kept diffusing from Liaoxi to Neimenggu, Liaodong and Jilin. Lastly, Liaoning bronze daggers’ can be more specifically categorized according to their pommefil ttings: bitaxeshaped, pillow-shaped, flute-shaped, animal nipple-shaped, and lattice pattern-shaped types. This kind ofcategorization can provide a new perspective for considering Liaoning bronze daggers as a whole shape of thetime rather than categorizing them solely with their blades.
