경남서부지역 삼국시대 생활용 토기의 변천과 의미

Transition process and Meaning of Pottery for living in Western Gyeongnam Area during period of Three kingdoms

생활용 토기란 취락유적에서 발견되는 일상생활에서 사용한 토기를 일컫는다. 넓은 의미의 생활용 토기는 취락유적에서 일어난 모든 행위에 사용된 기종들을 의미하지만, 이 글에서는 좁은 의미로 식생활에 사용된 기종들을 대상으로 하였다. 그간 생활용 토기에 대한 연구는 자료가 부족하다는 점과 시간에 따른 변화양상이 뚜렷하지 않다는 점을 이유로 연구자들의 관심을 받지 못하였다. 그러나 최근 경남서부지역에서 삼국시대의 대규모 취락유적 자료가 증가함에 따라 관련 연구가 본격화될 수 있는 계기가 마련되었다. 생활용 토기의 변천과정을 파악한다는 것은 당대 생활상 복원과 함께 동시기 단위취락 복원을 위한 기초적인 작업이라 할 수 있다.

The pottery for living, including those used in daily life for cooking, carrying, storing and distributing food, is usually excavated in such relics as pit dwellings. In particular, the pottery for living is closely associated to the dietary life which is the most fundamental factor to man’s survival. Until now, the reason for the lack of study on the pottery for living has been that there has not been much investigation of communal relics, but there has been an increase of investigation on them in the western Gyeongnam area. Accordingly, the need for reviewing the materials accumulated in this process has been consistently raised.
