정신장애인의 사회적 배제가 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향

The Impact of Social Exclusion on Mentally Disabled People Life Satisfaction : Focusing on the Mediation Effect of Interpersonal Ability

본 연구는 사회적 배제의 주요 대상이자 삶의 만족도 수준에서 취약한 상황에 있다고 판단되는 정신장애인에 대한 사회적 배제가 이들의 삶의 만족도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 분석하였다. 또한 정신장애인의 사회적 배제와 삶의 만족도와의 관계에서 대인관계능력의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 이를 위해서 본 연구에서는 장애인고용패널 중 2차 웨이브 1차 조사의 데이터를 활용하여 정신장애인 160명을 대상으로 분석을 진행하였다. 분석결과, 정신장애인의 사회적 배제는 대인관계능력과 삶의 만족도에 각각 부정적 영향을 미치고, 대인관계능력은 삶의 만족도에 긍정적 영향을 미쳤다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 그리고 대인관계능력은 사회적 배제가 삶의 만족도에 미치는 부정적 영향에서 부분 매개효과를 나타내었다. 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 정신장애인의 사회적 배제를 줄이고 삶의 만족도 수준을 개선할 수 있는 정책적·실천적 제언을 제시하였다. 먼저, 정신장애인의 대인관계능력을 강화할 실천적 접근이 필요하다. 그리고 정신장애인에 대한 사회적 인식변화를 위한 노력과 정신장애인의 대인관계능력 향상을 지원할 수 있는 정책적 노력이 필요하다.

This study analyzed how social exclusion of mentally disabled people, who are considered to be in a vulnerable situation at the level of life satisfaction and the main target of social exclusion affects their life satisfaction. It also verified the medial effect of interpersonal ability in relation to social exclusion of mentally disabled people and life satisfaction. In this study, the analysis was conducted on 160 mentally handicapped people using the data from Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled 2nd Wave. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that social exclusion of mentally disabled people had a negative effect on interpersonal ability and life satisfaction, respectively, and interpersonal ability had a positive effect on life satisfaction. Based on the results of these analyses, a policy and practical suggestion were presented to reduce social exclusion of the mentally disabled and to improve the level of satisfaction in life. First, a practical approach is needed to strengthen interpersonal ability of mentally disabled people. In addition, there is a need for policy efforts to change social perceptions of the mentally disabled people and to support the improvement of interpersonal ability of the mentally disabled people.
