Examining Residents’Needs and Perceptions on Social Welfare in Hongcheon Area

본 연구는 홍천군 지역주민들을 대상으로 사회보장 관련 욕구 및 인식을 조사하기 위한 목적으로 진행되었다. 조사대상자는 집계구 방식을 활용하여 표본을 추출하였고, 표본으로 추출된 홍천군 10개 읍·면 조사지역 내 총 400가구를 대상으로 가구 일반현황, 사회보장 관련 욕구, 생활여건 및 지역사회 인식에 대해 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 장애인 관련 욕구는 대상자는 적지만 상대적으로 큰 어려움이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 노인 및 아동 관련 욕구의 경우 중간 수준의 어려움을 갖고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 문화 및 체육관련 욕구는 다른 욕구에 비해 상대적으로 높은 수준임이 나타났다. 일자리 관련 욕구 수준은 상대적으로 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 건강관련해서도 신체 및 정신 건강 모두 큰 어려움은 없는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 통해 지역사회에서 집중해야할 주요 사회보장 욕구 및 지역 문제를 도출하였다.

This study was aimed to examine residents’ needs and perceptions on social welfare in Hongcheon area. The sample was collected using systematic sampling method, and a total of 400 households living in 10 eup/myeon districts of Hongcheon-gun were surveyed. Survey items included general household status, social welfare needs, living conditions, and perceptions on community. Results showed that the number of the disabled was relatively small, but the needs were relatively large. Elderly and child-related needs were at a moderate level. Cultural and physical needs were relatively higher than other needs. Job-related needs were relatively low. In terms of health, both physical and mental health did not appear to be a big problem. Based on these findings, major social welfare needs and local issues that need to be focused in the community were suggested.
