구글 빅데이터를 활용한 과학 교수·학습 활동의 제안

The Suggestions of Science Teaching-Learning Activities utilizing Google Big Data: Focusing on the Analysis of New Materials Unit in the Scientific Research Experiment Textbook

본 연구는 과학탐구실험 교과서에 기술된 신소재 단원의 내용 구성을 빅데이터 관점에서 분석하고 구글 빅데이터를 활용한 새로운 교수·학습 활동을 제안하여 그 효과성과 한계성을 탐색한 것이다. 먼저 7종의 과학탐구실험 교과서 내 신소재 단원 학습 목표 및 학습 소재, 탐구활동, 핵심역량 분석을 시행하였다. 학습 목표는 주로 신소재에 대한 조사 활동을 제시하고 있었는데, 총 21종의 학습 소재를 활용하고 있었다. 탐구활동은 현재의 활용적인 측면의 사례 조사 활동에만 초점을 맞추고 있었으며 핵심역량은 과학적 의사소통을 중심으로 구성되었다. 따라서 빅데이터 시대에 필요한 미래 경향성에 대한 예측과 종합적인 정보처리능력을 기르기 위해 더욱 내실 있는 구성이 필요해 보였고 Google Ngram Viewer와 Google Trend를 통한 새로운 수업안을 제시하였다. 신소재의 개별적인 특징만 다루던 기존의 수업과는 달리 시계열을 강조한 역사적, 사회적 관점을 함께 부각시킬 수 있어 기술개발의 과정 및 이용 현황과 미래 경향성까지 다양한 관점을 키울 수 있을 것으로 기대되었다. 본 연구를 통해 미래 교육 사회에서 요구하는 수많은 데이터의 활용과 더욱 복잡해지는 교수·학습 상황에 대비하는 차원에서 적합한 교과서 구성과 매체에 대한 시사점을 얻을 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

This study analyzed the composition of the contents of the unit of new materials described in the scientific research experiment textbooks from the perspective of big data and presented new teaching plans utilizing Google Big Data to explore the effectiveness and limitation. First, this study conducted an analysis of the educational objectives, learning materials, research activities, and core competencies of the unit of new materials in seven scientific research experiment textbooks. Thus, to predict the tendency of the future and develop the comprehensive information-processing abilities needed for the age of big data, it was judged that more substantial composition would be needed, and this study presented new teaching plans through Google Ngram Viewer and Google Trend. It could bring into relief the historical and social perspectives emphasizing time series together, unlike the existing classes that dealt with the individual characteristics of new materials, it was expected that it could develop various perspectives, including the process of technological development, the present condition of use and the tendency of the future. Through this study, it is expected that suggestions can be provided concerning the appropriate textbook composition and media at the dimension of utilizing numerous data required by the future society of education and getting ready for the teaching-learning situations that are getting more complicated.
