This presentation suggests a primary English teaching and learning model with the Whole Language Approach using the VR Storytelling tool, the Google Tour Creator. The model shows how the VR Storytelling tool can help to teach and practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing to different levels of primary school students. It is based on Cummings, Harapnuik, & Thibodeaux(2018)’s suggestion on promoting active learning in digital learning environments using the COVA model which uses the active learning principles of choice(C), ownership(O), and voice(V) through authentic learning(A) (COVA approach) to fully engage and equip learners to be digital leaders. Two major advantages of using the VR storytelling tool in teaching and learning English have been focused here. First, the VR Storytelling tool can give learners a choice of topics and themes of their project, ownership of what they create, and opportunities to reflect their views and ideas to advocate and contribute to their groups or communities. The second focal point in the teaching and learning model is that the VR storytelling tool can help learners to practice writing, speaking, reading, and listening skills by adding text, narration, meaningful information, and knowledge to create their own VR tours using imagery from Google Street View or their own 360°photos.
