This is an action research study on 8 sixth graders’ online English book making at English and Fine Arts Integrated Class in J (pseudonym) elementary school in rural Jeollabuk-do. The main purpose of the current study is to report how a sixth grade homeroom teacher and researcher conducted a fine arts and English integrated class using an online photobook-making site in the fall semester of 2019 with her eight students. Three research questions are as follows: (1) How did the sixth graders in rural elementary school develop their interest and confidence in English learning while participating in online photobook-based English book making activities?; (2) How did eight rural elementary school sixth graders and their teacher participate in online photobook-based English writing activities? (3) How did the eight students and teachers respond to the printed English books they made? The study results were as follows: First, the interest and confidence of eight students in English learning were slightly improved during the study. The second result was that eight students participated in activities in various ways, and the teacher became an individual assistant to meet the needs of each student. The third study result is that 7 students and teachers became so excited when they finally were able to read their printed English books, but NH became regrettable because she could not read her friends’ English books. The three results indicate that it takes much longer time than one semester to improve Korean rural-area primary school students’ interest and confidence in English learning. Based on the study results follow-up study topics are suggested for scholars who are interested in content and language integrated learning with Korean primary school students.
