This study was aimed to examine the effects of task type and written language on interaction in speaking activities. Leaners’ interactions link to each leaner’s language knowledge and skills so that the leaners’ communicative skill enhances. Interaction between learners, as an essential factor to acquire language, varies on the base of task type, performance condition, and learner’s proficiency, and also affective factors in langue use. Three research questions were set up. First, what are the effects of verbal communicative task types on learner’s volume of interaction, lexical level, and their interest and confidence in the language? Second, what are the effects of the written language on learner’s volume of interaction, lexical level, and their interest and confidence in the language? Third, what are the effects of learners’ proficiency on learners’ interaction and language use, and affective factors?
