The objective of this study is to investigate the conflict factors between work and life from working environment such as being on-call or messages after work hours using smart communication devices. It also explores its effects on subjective well-being. In order to achieve the objectives, as a conceptual framework of the study, the literature on conflict between work and life, subjective well-being, and right to disconnect were reviewed, and the empirical study was conducted. Employees’ working in the IT relative industry were chosen for the study. Data were collected for 20 days from June 10 to June 30, 2019. A total of 700 employees’ working in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province were attended in this research and finally 512 samples were used for the empirical analysis. The results of the study showed that ‘the level of awareness on right to disconnect’ closely related with socio-demographic characteristic such as gender, age, role of work and work intensity. Moreover, the group of high awareness on right to disconnect concerned more with ‘work-self development factor’ than ‘work-leisure factor’ among conflict factors between work and life. Furthermore, ‘work-self development factor’ influenced on subjective well-being from both groups with high or low awareness on right to disconnect.
