초등 예비교사가 바라본 학교 운동장의 속성과 문화적 의미

The nature and cultural implications of the school grounds from the perspective of primary pre-service teachers

본 연구는 초등 예비교사가 바라본 학교 운동장의 속성과 문화적 의미를 탐색하는 데 목적을 두었다. 자료는 2019년 10월부터 11월까지 수도권 소재의 교육대학에 재학 중인 초등 예비교사 12명을 연구참여자로 선정하여 인터뷰하였고, 8명에게 개방형 질문지를 작성하여 운동장에서 드러난 학생들의 문화를 추가로 수집하였다. 수집된 자료를 Spradley(1979)가 제안한 영역 분석과 분류 분석을 토대로 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 일상 속 운동장의 모습은 길, 아이들의 웃음 창고, 쉬는 곳, 넓은 바다 그리고 테트리스 등으로 범주화되었다. 둘째, 수업 속 운동장은 운동 수행능력 증진의 장, 신체활동의 전략과 전술 발휘의 장, 학생들과의 적극적 상호작용의 장 그리고 규칙이 엄격성이 존재하는 곳 등으로 범주화되었다. 셋째, 운동장의 문화적 의미는 만남, 교실, 힐링, 도화지 등으로 나타났다. 그리고 논의에서는 학교 운동장의 속성과 문화적 의미를 바탕으로 학교 운동장의 미래를 신체활동 체험의 장, 또래와의 만남과 모임의 장으로 나누어 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study was to explore the attributes and cultural significance of the school grounds as viewed by the primary school teachers. For the data, from October to November 2019, 12 primary pre-service teachers attending an educational college located in the metropolitan area were selected and interviewed. In addition, eight students were asked to fill out an open questionnaire to further collect the culture of students exposed on the playground. The results of analyzing the collected data based on the domain analysis and classification analysis proposed by Spradley (1979) are as follows. First, the appearance of the playground in everyday life was categorized as a road, a storehouse for children s laughter, a place to rest, the open sea, and Tetris. Second, the sports field in the class was categorized into a field for improving athletic performance ability, a field for exercising strategies and tactics for physical activity, a field for active interaction with students, and a place where rules exist with strictness. Third, the cultural meaning of the playground was revealed as meeting, classroom, healing, and drawing paper. And in the discussion, the future of the school playground was presented by dividing it into a place for physical activity experience and a place for meeting and meeting with peers based on the properties and cultural meaning of the school playground.
