초등 영어·수학 통합교육을 위한 전문 어휘 선정

Technical Vocabulary for Primary English and Math Integrated Education: The 5th and 6th Grade Group of the 2015 National Curriculum

본 연구는 초등 영어·수학 통합교육을 위한 전문 어휘를 선정하는데 그 목적이 있다. 분석 대상은 2015 개정 교육과정 5-6학년군 수학 교과서로서 핵심 내용어를 중심으로 참조 어휘 목록을 구성하였다. 분석 도구로는 GSL-AWL 기반의 RANGE program을 활용하여, 수학 교과서 참조 어휘 목록에서 GSL과 AWL을 제외하는 방식으로 초등 영어·수학 통합교육을 위한 전문 어휘를 추출하였다. 선정된 전문 어휘 목록은 영어·수학 통합교육을 원하는 교수·학습자들의 영어 어휘력을 보완하는 자료 뿐 아니라 교수요목이나 활동자료를 제작하는데도 활용될 수 있어 초등학교 현장의 내용통합 영어교육 활성화를 꾀할 수 있는 기초자료로서 유용성을 지닐 것으로 기대된다.

This study aims to develop a technical vocabulary list for primary 5th and 6th graders’ Math and English integrated education. For this purpose, the reference vocabularies were compiled from 5th and 6th graders’ math textbook and were analyzed with Range Program based on GSL and AWL. Excluded GSL and AWL from the reference vocabulary list and modified, total 55 word families of the technical vocabulary for primary Math and English education ware abstracted. This technical vocabulary list will not only be useful for those who want Math and English integrated learning and teaching, but also be essential for the educational material development.
