사회환경 변화에 따른 범죄양상의 특성에 대한 분석 연구

A Study on the Characteristics of Crime Patterns according to the Change of Social Environment

본 연구는 사회 환경의 변화에 따라 범죄의 특성 즉 양상이 어떻게 변화되는지를 알아보기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 코로나19 바이러스 감염증과 경제적 불황기의 각각 서로 다른 요인을 사회적 환경의 변화요인으로 선택하여 전체 범죄율과 범죄유형에 어떤 변화를 주는지에 대하여 비교·분석하였다. 우선, 경제상황에 있어서 경제적 불황기 요인과 범죄양상을 분석해 본 결과, 1997년 IMF 경기불황기 시점을 기준으로 전체 범죄발생 건수는 1998년 다소 감소하였다가 1999년 이후에 꾸준히 범죄가 증가하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 특히 1998년 전후로 재산범죄 중 절도범죄와 사기범죄 등이 증가하였고, 강력범죄는 폭력, 상해범죄가 지속적으로 감소세 없이 증가하였다. 다음으로 코로나19 바이러스 감염증 요인에 따른 범죄양상의 특성을 분석한 결과, 2019년 4분기와 코로나 19바이러스가 발생한 1분기 112 범죄신고 건수를 비교해 보면 범죄가 감소하였다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 범죄유형을 분석한 결과 사회적 거리두기 등의 제한으로 사회활동이 감소하면서 주거침입절도 등의 절도범죄, 폭력범죄 등이 감소하였고, 반면에 집에 머무는 시간이 증가하면서 피싱, 사기 등의 온라인 범죄와 가정폭력, 아동학대, 노인범죄 등이 증가하였다. 따라서 이러한 결과는 사회 환경의 변화 요인들이 범죄율에 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었고, 이에 따라 범죄유형도 달라진다는 것을 의미한다.

This study was conducted to find out how the nature, or pattern of crime, changes with changes in the social environment. For this purpose, different factors of Corona 19 virus infection and economic recession were selected as factors of change in the social environment, and the overall crime rate and type of crime were compared and analyzed. First of all, the analysis of economic recession factors and crime patterns in economic conditions showed that the total number of crimes decreased slightly in 1998 and increased steadily since 1999 based on the IMF recession in 1997. In particular, theft and fraud crimes among property crimes increased around 1998, and violent crimes continued to increase without a decrease. Next, the analysis of the characteristics of the pattern of crime according to the factors of corona 19 virus infection showed that crime decreased by comparing the number of 112 crime reports in the fourth quarter of 2019 with the first quarter of the year when the corona 19 virus occurred. In addition, as a result of analyzing crime types, theft and violent crimes were reduced due to restrictions on social distance, while online crimes such as phishing, fraud, child abuse, and elderly crimes were increased as time spent at home increased. Thus, these results mean that the factors that change in the social environment affect the crime rate and thus the type of crime changes.
