대학생의 보고텍스트 고쳐쓰기 활동에 필요한 점검도구 개발 연구

Research and development of revising and checking tools in writing texts for reports for college students - foreign students as target for academic purposes

이 연구의 목적은 학문 목적 유학생이 자신의 보고텍스트에서 나타나는 문제점을 진단할 수 있는 점검도구를 설계하여 고쳐쓰기에 도움을 주는 것이다. 유학생들은 자 신이 완성한 글을 고쳐쓰는 과정에서 맞춤법이나 통사적 오류 분석와 같이 형태적인 부분에 집중하는 편이며, 이는 한국어 능력이 낮은 경우 더 심하다. 이 점검도구는 객 관적인 독자의 입장에서 자신의 글을 다시 평가하여, 처음 의도와 다르게 표현되거나 보고텍스트에 적당하지 않는 어휘, 문장, 단락, 주제에 적합하지 않은 단락, 서론, 본 론, 결론에 적합하지 않은 내용 등을 파악할 수 있도록 하는 것이다. 이를 통해 보고텍 스트의 질적인 수준을 높일 수 있도록 하는 것이다. 이 연구에서는 점검도구를 설계하고 활용할 수 있는 전략을 제시하기 위해 다음 과 같은 연구 과정을 수행하였다. 첫째, 보고서 대회 수상작을 분석하여 능숙한 필자 가 쓴 좋은 평가를 받는 보고텍스트의 특징을 바탕으로 쓰기 교육 목표를 설정하고, 초고에서 점검할 사항을 정리하였다. 둘째, 유학생을 대상으로 고쳐쓰기 습관에 대 한 설문조사를 실시하고, 이를 바탕으로 점검도구를 설계하였다. 마지막 단계로 유학 생의 보고텍스트 글쓰기 강의에서 활용한 후에, 사용 전후에 설문을 실시하여 교육적 효과를 살펴보고 이 도구를 현장에서 활용할 수 있는 구체적인 방법을 제시하였다.

The objective of this paper is to present a checking tool for foreign students to diagnose the problems of the report text they wrote and help them to rewrite it. Foreign students tend to focus on the analysis of spelling or syntactic errors in revising their completed texts, which is even more so among those with low Korean proficiency. The checking tool designed in this paper evaluates the writing from the perspective of an objective reader and analyzes the text to find inappropriate vocabulary, sentences, and paragraphs for report texts, paragraphs inconsistent with the subject, and the parts unsuitable for introduction, body, and conclusion. Through this process, the tool is expected to help enhance the quality of the report text. To create a manual for the design and application of writing checking tools, we conducted the research as follows: First, award-winning works from report competitions were analyzed to establish the goals of report writing training, based on the characteristics of report text written by experienced writers. Second, foreign students were surveyed about their revising habits, based on which a checking tool for foreign students was designed. Finally, the tool was used in the report text writing courses for foreign students and its educational effects were assessed with questionnaires before and after using the tool. Then a specific manual was suggested to help teachers and students to use this tool.
