동료 첨삭논평에 대한 글쓰기 학습자의 반응 양상 연구

A Study on the Response of Writing Students to Peers’ Comments - With a Focus on Type and Appropriateness of Comments

본고는 동료 첨삭논평을 대상으로 그 유형과 적절성에 따른 글쓰기 학습자의 반응 양상을 밝히기 위한 시도로서, 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 글쓰기 학습자는 동료가 제공한 첨삭논평에 대해 ‘수사적 맥락’과 ‘조직’의 초점 영역에 비해 ‘내용’과 ‘표현의 정확성’의 초점 영역에서 높은 수용률을 보였다. 이는 동료 첨삭논평에 대한 글쓰기 학습자의 반응 양상이 ‘초점’ 영역 간 차이를 보임 을 말한다. 둘째, ‘방식’의 측면에서는 글쓰기 학습자의 반응 양상이 ‘방식’의 하위 범주 간 큰 차이를 보이지 않았는데, ‘교정’이 다른 방식에 비해 높은 수용률을 보였다. 이는 글쓰 기 학습자가 ‘교정’과 같이 분명하고 구체적인 수정 방향을 제시해 주는 방식을 선호 함을 나타낸다. 셋째, 글쓰기 학습자는 동료 첨삭논평이 부적절한 경우보다 적절한 경우일 때 훨씬 높은 수용률을 보였다. 이는 동료가 제공한 첨삭논평의 적절성에 따라 글쓰기 학습자 가 보이는 반응 양상에 차이가 있음을 나타내는데, 글쓰기 학습자는 동료가 제공한 첨삭논평의 적절성을 판별하여 부적절한 경우라고 판단될 때는 ‘거절’의 반응을 보이 는 경향이 있다. 넷째, 글쓰기 학습자가 동료 첨삭논평의 적절성에 대한 판별의 어려움으로 부적절 한 동료 첨삭논평을 수용하는 경우도 있는데, 이는 ‘표현의 정확성’ 초점 영역의 첨삭 논평에서 두드러진다.

This paper is an attempt to reveal the responses of writing students to peers’ comments according to their type and appropriateness, summarizing the results of this study as follows. First, the writing students showed a higher acceptance rate of peers’ comments in the focus areas of “content” and “correctness” compared to the focus areas of “context” and “organization.” This indicates that the response of the writing students to peers’ comments shows a difference between the areas of “focus.” Second, in terms of “mode,” the responses of the students showed no significant difference between subcategories of “mode,” but “corrections” showed a higher acceptance rate compared to other modes. This means that the writing students prefer a mode that provides clear and specific directions for improvement, such as “corrections.” Third, the writing students had a much higher acceptance rate when a peer’s comment was more appropriate than when it was not, indicating that the responses of the writing students depend on the appropriateness of the peers’ comment. Further, the writing students tend to respond to “rejection” when it is judged to be inappropriate by judging the appropriateness of the peer’s comment. Fourth, some writing students accepted inappropriate comments due to difficulty in determining their appropriateness, which was apparent in the focus area of “correctness.”
