속담을 통해서 본 한·중·일 언어관 비교

A Comparison of Korean, Chinese, and Japanese Language View through the Proverb - Focusing on the Proverb Related to Language

본고는 한국어와 중국어, 일본어 속담 중에서 ‘말(言語)에 관계된 속담’을 수집하여 비교·분석하였다. 이는 속담을 통하여 한·중·일 3국의 사람들이 말에 대하여 가지는 어떤 공통된 인식이나 차이점을 살펴본 것이다. 세 나라의 속담 중에서 말(言語)과 관련하여 표현된 유사한 속담을 중심으로 선택하였다. 그리고 이것들을 언어의 기능 가운데 가장 일차적인 ‘전달효과’라는 측면에서 분류하고, 속담의 표현 방식과 의미 내용을 분석하여, 한·중·일 세 나라 사람들이 말에 대하여 가지는 공통된 인식이나 차이점을 알아보았다. 분석한 결과의 중요한 내용만을 요약하면 다음과 같다. (1) 한·중·일 속담에는 고유한 문화와 민족성을 반영한 속담들이 많다. (2) 한·중·일 속담에는 문장 표현 의미가 유사한 것들이 많다. (3) 한·중·일 속담에는 표현 방식이나 비유 대상이 유사한 것들이 있다. (4) 한·중·일 속담은 비유법을 많이 사용하고 있다. (5) 한·중·일 속담은 문장 표현 형식이 짧고, 교화성과 감화성을 지닌 것들이 많다. (6) 한·중·일 속담에는 유사한 내용의 속담을 표현만 달리해 사용하는 것도 적지 않다.

This study compared and analyzed ‘proverbs related to language’ among Korean, Chinese and Japanese proverbs. This is a look at certain common perceptions and differences that people in the three countries of Korea, China, and Japan have about languages through the proverbs. Among the proverbs of the three countries, it was chosen mainly on a similar proverb expressed in relation to language. And I classified them in terms of the primary ‘transfer effect’ of the function of language, and I compared and analyzed the expressions and meanings of proverbs to find out the common perceptions and differences that people in Korea, China and Japan have about languages. The only important summary of the results of the analysis is as follows: ① Many proverbs of Korea, China and Japan reflect their unique culture and ethnicity. ② In the Korean, Chinese, and Japanese proverbs, there are many similar meanings in sentences. ③ In the Korean, Chinese, and Japanese proverbs, there are very similar expressions or metaphors. ④ The proverbs of Korea, China, and Japan use a lot of analogy. ⑤ The proverbs of Korea, China, and Japan express magic with the short sentence expression form, the edification and the impression. ⑥ In the Korean, Chinese, and Japanese proverbs, similar proverbs are often used differently.
