설명적 글쓰기 교육에서의 창의적 사고력 증진 방안

A Study on Way to Improving Creative Thinking Ability in Explanatory Writing - Focusing on the use of conceptual metaphor

최근 글쓰기 교육에서의 창의적 사고력 증진 방안에 관한 관심이 높아지고 있으나, 창의적 사고와 관련된 글쓰기 교육은 대부분 문예적 글쓰기로 한정되어 이루어진 경향이 높다. 그러나 이 연구에서는 문예적 글쓰기가 아닌 설명적 글쓰기에서의 창의적 사고력을 증진시킬 수 있는 방법으로서, 개념적 은유를 활용한 글쓰기 교육 방안을 살펴보고자 했다. 은유는 기존의 언어적 사용 관습에서 벗어나고자 하는 특성으로 인해 창의적인 것으로 이해된다. 또한 은유는 잘 알려지지 않은 대상을 보다 쉽게 설명하기 위한 목적에서 활용되기도 한다. 이러한 은유의 특성을 고려하여, 이 연구에서는 개념적 은유를 활용한 설명적 글쓰기 교육 방안을 제안해 보았다. 개념적 은유를 활용한 설명적 글쓰기 교육 결과, 학생들은 대상을 다각적으로 이해하고자 했으며, 다양하고 창의적인 방식으로 대상을 소개하는 글을 쓰고자 했음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이 연구는 그동안의 문예적 글쓰기로 한정되어 있었던 창의적 사고력 증진 교육을 설명적 글쓰기와 같은 학술적 글쓰기로 확장시켰다는 점에서 그 의의를 찾을 수 있으리라 본다. 또한 은유를 활용한 설명적 글쓰기 교육을 통해서 학생들이 대상을 다양한 측면에서 창의적으로 이해하려고 했다는 점에서 이 연구의 의의를 찾을 수 있을 것이다.

Recently, interest in developing creative thinking ability in writing education is increasing. This study tried to propose a writing education method using conceptual metaphor as a way to improve creative thinking ability in explanatory writing. Metaphor can be understood as being creative because of the nature of its attempt to escape the conventional linguistic usage conventions. Also conceptual metaphor can be used in a variety of ways for the purpose of making it easier to explain unknown objects. Considering all the characteristic, this study proposed a teaching method of explanatory writing using conceptual metaphor. As a result of the explanatory writing education using the conceptual metaphor, the students tried to understand the object in various ways and tried to write an article introducing the object in various and creative ways. This study can be meaningful in that it expanded the creative thinking ability training which was limited to the literary writing in the past to academic writing such as explanatory writing. In addition, the another significance of this study is, students try to understand creatively in various aspects through explanatory writing education using metaphor.
